We believe, as part of our mission, in the work and service we provide to our clients, that every intervention must improve things socially, environmentally, and economically. As part of this, we like to walk the talk and be open and transparent in our approach.

How do we know this resonates with our people? How do we know our employees are engaged enough to live by our values and achieve success together?

We’re big fans of facts, data, and evidence-based insight. That’s why we run an independent, anonymous, science-backed employee engagement survey each year. It includes 56 focus questions and invites open-ended feedback, allowing us to truly listen to what our people are saying.

We’re a humble bunch, but we’re incredibly proud to share that this year, our engagement score hit 89%. That’s 17% higher than the benchmark for the professional services industry.

Even more remarkably, we achieved 100% scores in several key areas, including:

⭐ Generally, I believe my workload is reasonable for my role

⭐ My manager keeps me informed about what is happening at Perspektiv

⭐ We have enough autonomy to perform our jobs effectively

⭐ Perspektiv really allows us to make a positive difference

⭐ Perspektiv's commitment to social responsibility is genuine

How is this possible, I hear you ask?

The answer is simple. Treat your people like people. Amongst our team of leaders, we have an abundance of empathy and honesty. Mistakes or challenges are viewed as learning opportunities, and we strive to ensure that our people feel supported and heard. We also make sure to express our gratitude along the way.

Nobody is perfect by any means, but we spend a lot of our lives at work, so why not make it a place where people feel energised, connected and heard, with space to grow, learn and be their best selves?

So, we also asked them what they need to do that?

The top 5 answers:

🏖️ Holidays

☕ Coffee

🎵 Music

🫶 Time to connect

⚖️ Work-life balance

All things that are pretty achievable with the right tools, processes and support.

We try to connect our geographically spread team frequently through meetings, lunch-and-learns, work caves, and virtual coffee catch-ups. We ensure music is woven into our meeting agendas and ensure team-made playlists for every excursion we hold (which often end up with some dancing by the end of the evening). We are mindful of people’s life stages and recognise that our non-work lives can have an impact, so we offer as much flexibility and balance as possible.

And holidays? We offer a range of leave options, including the purchase of extra days, as well as additional adventure and volunteering days, allowing our people to create meaningful memories while positively impacting others and their own lives.

As a culturally diverse team who like to travel and explore, we also asked, 'Where to next?' Japan, NZ, Iceland, Peru, Scotland, Canada, and home are all places we are inspired to visit.

Aha! But what happens when the rose-tinted glasses fall off our noses, when we run out of leave, or we run out of coffee beans (a very rare occurrence)? Our office fish and sometimes our cute dogs are there to provide support, comfort, and make us smile.
