“In the world we live in, opportunities to step away and simply connect as people are rare. I’m grateful to be part of a team that values this time together, not just to have fun, but to strengthen the trust and teamwork that make Perspektiv what it is.”

Suzie Beckley, Chief People Officer, Perspektiv

On 29th October, our team swapped the office for the forest at Nanga Bush Camp, Dwellingup, for two days designed to recharge, reconnect, and remind ourselves what makes Perspektiv such a special place to work.

Time away together is a rare gift. It’s not just about stepping away from our everyday work; it’s about investing in who we are as a team. These moments give us space to pause, have fun, and strengthen the relationships that underpin everything we do.

Intelligent Collaboration

From the moment we arrived (after a few creative logistical manoeuvres), we saw how much our team thrives on problem-solving together. Whether it was navigating orienteering trails or figuring out how to power a coffee machine in the bush, our collective intelligence and resourcefulness shone through.

Practical Creativity

Halloween quiz night set the tone for the weekend, a spooky, laughter-filled evening that balanced competition and fun. Painting in the rain offered a slower, more reflective moment, reminding us that creativity doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. Diverse ideas and perspectives can come together to create something beautiful, even when the weather has other plans.

Honest Communication

Team games challenged us to communicate clearly, listen actively, and treat each other with respect, qualities that lie at the heart of how we work at Perspektiv. It’s in those moments of genuine exchange, whether we’re discussing strategy or speaking in entirely made-up languages, that we strengthen trust and understanding.

Optimistic Mindsets

Head of Carbon & Circularity, Padi’s breathwork session gave us all a chance to pause, breathe, and reset. Surrounded by nature, we were reminded that optimism often comes from simply being present, taking time to reflect and finding calm amid the noise.

Flexible Thinking

Our cooking challenges tested more than our culinary skills. With a few unexpected AI twists thrown into the mix, adaptability became the secret ingredient. The results? Two nights of incredible food, quick thinking, and shared laughter, proof that flexibility and teamwork go hand in hand.

Teamwork Above All

Across every activity, the same truth stood out: we’re stronger together. Our team’s diversity in background, experience, and perspective is one of our greatest strengths. When we show up for each other with openness and care, we create an environment where everyone can contribute their best.

As we left Nanga Bush (with memories of sausage-stealing kookaburras, stalking werewolves, and some very talented bullfrogs), we carried with us something far more valuable: a renewed sense of connection and gratitude for the people who make Perspektiv what it is.

Because at Perspektiv, it’s not just what we do that matters - it’s how we do it with intelligence, practicality, honesty, optimism, flexibility, and teamwork.
