Last week, the Perspektiv team had the fantastic opportunity to embark on a two-day team-building adventure that not only pushed our limits but also created many lasting memories.
Our journey kicked off with a fun filled scavenger hunt in the picturesque Kings Park. Embracing the challenge (and a little competition), we divided into three teams, racing against each other to decipher clues while navigating the park's stunning surroundings. This activity proved to be more than just a test of our problem-solving skills; it also provided valuable insights into the park's history, its significance in WA's Aboriginal culture, and its iconic flora and fauna.
Day two led us to Portside Boulder in Fremantle for an adrenaline-pumped morning of bouldering. Despite heightened nerves, everyone gave it their best go as we endeavored to scale the walls and tackle challenges set by the experienced instructors at Portside.
The final afternoon of our team-building promised a leisurely sailing trip on the Swan River… but to our surprise, we were treated to an action-packed sail with perfect wind conditions, allowing us to gain impressive speed and take control of the sailing the boats as a cohesive team. The day ended with a beer in hand, as we all made it back to dry land, mildly escaping any potential bouts of sea sickness.
Our annual team-building efforts are strategically designed to foster connections among our team members, push them beyond their comfort zones, while also building trust. We choose activities that not only enhance workplace communication, engagement and productivity, but also reconnect us with the outdoors and nature.
A special acknowledgment goes to our Chief People Officer Suzie Beckley for orchestrating the day's events and to Hike Collective, Portside Boulder Fremantle, and the Swan River Sailing for showing us the ropes (quite literally). We had a fantastic time!
