Perspektiv Secures Third Consecutive Year of Climate Active Carbon Neutral Certification

We are thrilled to announce that Perspektiv has officially achieved Climate Active Carbon Neutral status for the third consecutive year.

A special shout-out goes to consultants Julia Bairstow, whose dedication and hard work played a crucial role in securing this certification and to Khilane Kissane who’s invaluable support in drawing from his experience in previous rounds, was instrumental in our success. Gloria Ccallo and Chloe Burgan deserve recognition for their meticulous accounting work, particularly in managing financial and energy/waste data, and the first-time procurement of LGCs to achieve 100% renewable electricity.

It reflects our staff’s all-round dedication and hard work, with our entire team contributing to reducing our footprint by actively embracing sustainable practices, such as adopting active transport to work and implementing mindful waste avoidance strategies. Collaboration has been the key to keeping our operations nimble and in line with our sustainability goals.

In our journey towards carbon neutrality, we've made significant strides in reducing our environmental impact. In the fiscal year 2022-23, our total emissions were 56.44 t CO2e, translating to 2.65kg of CO2 generated per billable hour worked. Our commitment to improving our impacts has resulted in an impressive 42% reduction in functional unit emissions intensity compared to the base year (FY 20-21).

This year, Perspektiv proudly retired 58 Verified Emissions Reductions (VER) units to balance our carbon footprint. Our commitment goes beyond just offsetting through carbon reduction offsets – we actively supported carbon removal reforestation projects in Panama and Nicaragua.

But we’re not stopping there. We've set ambitious targets and are proud to report substantial progress against our emissions reduction actions:

  • 73.9% of flights were booked with carbon offsets, leading to an 87.61% reduction in emissions in the air transport category compared to the base year.

  • 50.2% of all commute and business travel kilometers were associated with active and public transport modes.

  • 74.25% of waste was diverted from landfill, resulting in a remarkable 78.31% reduction in emissions in the waste emissions category compared to the base year.

  • 100% of our business electricity consumption is now covered by LGCs, contributing to our commitment to 100% renewable electricity.

Climate Active Carbon Neutral

We remain committed to 'Finding a Better Way.' Our offset strategy, combined with internal initiatives and collaboration, ensures that we not only meet industry-leading commitments for Scope 1 and 2 net-zero emissions but also pave the way for a rapid transition to a sustainable, net-zero future.

As we celebrate this achievement, we also look forward to further decarbonising our Scope 3 emissions as our commitment to inspiring the industry remains true. We invite everyone to join us in leading the way towards a cleaner, greener future!
