Sustainability Consultant 

Perspektiv is seeking a new Consultant to join our small but highly successful team in Perth. We work closely with government clients and are now looking for a capable individual to work on one of our major long-term projects with Main Roads WA. Working closely with our Infrastructure Sustainability Regional Lead, you will be an important part of the civil infrastructure sustainability team. Working in the client offices up to 4 days a week, you will be exposed to large infrastructure projects and have the ability to make your mark in embedding sustainable practices into the future.

The Role

The role will involve the following:

 

  •  Assisting in the development of environmental/sustainability reporting systems (project based)

  • Developing and updating system to accommodate sustainability rating assessment requirements (project based)

  • Liaising with sustainability governing bodies (ISC).

  • Evaluation and review of key project deliverables from establishment, implementation and maintained throughout project delivery. 

  • Providing specialist sustainability advice to functional managers, particularly Design, Procurement, Commercial and Construction, to ensure sustainability obligations are integrated across all Project delivery functions. 

  • Interfacing with, and report to, key Project stakeholders in relation to sustainability issues 

  • Participate in environment, sustainability, design, construction, and commercial meetings as required. 

  • Implementing and delivering sustainability outcomes consistent with sustainability requirements, including IS rating requirements. 

  • Reporting on compliance and against sustainability requirements 

  • Establishing Program and project controls and reporting systems across the works for sustainability performance monitoring against desired targets

 
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

We are open to anyone who believes they can offer us value, but we will look favourably upon:

 

  • Environmental or Sustainability Advisory experience working on major infrastructure delivery projects (desirable) 

  • Involved in the delivery of an Infrastructure Sustainability Council Design and/or As Built Rating (highly desirable)

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent

  • Knowledge & understanding of Commonwealth, State, Acts, Regulations and Australian Standards

  • Specialist working knowledge in a key sustainability aspect such as energy and emissions, heritage, workforce sustainability, water, sustainable procurement, circular economy (highly desirable)

  • Knowledge & understanding of environmental monitoring - noise, dust, vibration, and water.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
