Sydney Metro City & Southwest – TSE

Sydney Metro City & Southwest extends the new metro network from the end of Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood, under Sydney Harbour, through new railway stations in the CBD and west to Bankstown. John Holland CPB Ghella (JHCPBG) has been contracted to design and construct the Tunnel and Station Excavation Works.

NorthWest Program Alliance – Level Crossing Removal

The North West Program Alliance will initially remove the level crossings at Camp Road in Campbellfield and Skye Road in Frankston. This will involve lowering the rail under Camp Road and building a rail bridge over Skye Road. The Alliance will then start planning works for the removal of other level crossings in Melbourne’s North West, as part of the additional works package.

High Street Upgrade (MRWA)

Currently, High Street between Stirling Highway and Carrington Street is experiencing significant traffic congestion. There is also a high crash rate along this 1.5 km route and heightened safety risks for both road users and pedestrians.

This project hopes to address these issues and improve the general flow of traffic for everyone travelling in and out of Fremantle.

Albion Park Rail By-Pass

A 9.8 km extension of the M1 princes Motorway between Yallah and Oaks Flats to bypass Albion Park Rail. The purpose of the project is to complete the ‘missing link’ of motorway standard road between Sydney and Bomaderry.

Watercare NZ

The project involved the construction of the largest potable water transmission pipeline in New Zealand. The 1,575mm – 1,965mm CLS pipeline stretched 28km from the Redoubt Reservoir complex in South East Auckland, through the suburbs of Southern Auckland and Onehunga before completion at Market Road in Epsom. The scope included a pipejacked tunnel under the Southern Motorway, three pipe bridges and installation & commissioning of mechanical and electrical control systems.

Canberra Light Rail (ACT)

The first stage of a new light rail in Australia’s Capital connecting Gungahlin and the City, consisting of 12km of light rail track, 13 stops, light rail vehicles, and a depot to be operated and maintained by Canberra Metro for 20 years.

Rating Highlights:

  • Innovation Reducing water usage with the application of a polymer as a soil bonding agent and dust suppression has been recognised as an Australian first.

  • Energy Development of an energy strategy that optimises energy efficiency in operations, installs solar panels on the Mitchell depot roof and achieves zero emissions running supported by the ACT Government reaching its Renewable Energy Target of 100% by 2020.

  • Climate change Risk assessment to inform the design, incorporating adaptation measures to mitigate the impacts and improve resilience to extreme climatic events.

  • Community and Health: Partnership with Canberra Business Chamber for the development of small local Canberra businesses as part of the project.

Westconnex 1b M4 East

Seven kilometres in total length, the M4 East will join the M4 Widening at Homebush Bay Drive and provide a 5.5 kilometre tunnel with three lanes in each direction from the M4 at North Strathfield to Parramatta Road and City West Link, Haberfield. Mobilisation for the M4 East Motorway is expected to commence onsite in 2016 in preparation for tunnelling activities to commence later in that year. The project was completed in 2019. The 33-kilometre WestConnex motorway will link Sydney’s west and south west with the city, airport and port. It is being constructed in three stages and progressively opened, with final completion scheduled for 2023.
